Past
Midwest Buses one of the largest providers of bus transportation on the East Coast and was founded in 1979. Through our direct management and our dedication to our clients, the Company grew at a very controlled rate. Never allowing our growth to get out of control or service to suffer. We now manage a very large fleet of vehicles operating from numerous facilities throughout the U.S., staffed by the best operations and maintenance personnel in the industry. We live by our motto of providing excellent quality service and value to our customers and realize that we consistently go beyond the best.
With over 30 years of experience, we have developed a reputation of striving to be the best, with unmatched standards in service, safety, quality and reliability. Keeping your Children Safe is our#1 Concern
It seems like only yesterday that we were sitting on the big yellow school bus as children, singing songs, playing games and just having what we could now be looked at as pure honest and innocent fun and no matter how pure the memories of being little kids and climbing aboard a big yellow school bus, or how much fun a small child thinks the ride will be, the fact is that maintaining a education based transportation program is serious business, and a major responsibility. When many families are trusting you with their children, and paying you, to get them to school safe and unharmed, on time and return them to their awaiting parents arms at the end of the day.
At Midwest Buses, we know this. The safety of the kids we transport is our main concern and priority. We worked tirelessly to ensure the peace of mind of those who have entrusted their children to us. We understand what really matters to the people who entrust us with their children’s lives and well being. Safety, above all, is the foundation of our business and because of which is the basis on which we build everything else.
We are not the biggest school transportation provider in the country or even the state and we are not the cheapest. We aren’t out to just make a quick buck. After all do you want a company that is the cheapest, cuts corners to increase profit margins and put children at risk? Well, we say no to that way of doing business. We take kids to school. We make sure they arrive safely, and we make sure they’re on time so that they can make the most of their school day…and return them home to awaiting families.
We have been a contractor with the City of New York, Office of Pupil Transportation since 1979 where we have been providing safe, reliable and efficient, transportation service to the children of the City of New York. We are at the forefront of the pupil transportation industry and we are very familiar with every aspect of pupil transportation, from general enrollment to special needs students. Our team of drivers, matrons, dispatchers, mechanics, and office staff all work cohesively together to ensure that your districts transportation operation is nearly transparent to all those involved.
Furthermore, our fleet of modern, highly reliable school bus vehicles, which range from mini wagons, and standard size school buses to wheelchair buses are all NYS DOT inspected, updated with the newest technologies, and maintained with the most pristine care. We are truly aware of the precious care needed to transport children to school and we would be honored to be given the privilege to provide this transportation service within your district. Employees
Midwest Buses employs many drivers and escorts all of who display a "Beyond The Best" attitude. Our uniformed drivers and escorts are highly trained and qualified professionals who comply with federal and state Department of Transportation motor vehicle regulations and Board of Education requirements. They receive extensive training, continuing courses and safety workshops. They are also subject to the Midwest Buses' stringent pre-employment screening, ongoing random drug and alcohol testing programs and annual medical examinations.

Fleet
Our fleet is a representation of the wide array of the educational transportation services that we provide in order to accommodate a wide variety of passenger needs. They range from lift equipped wheelchair vans and buses, to a large range of school bus configurations.
At Midwest Buses, we don't believe in short cuts! Only scheduled, well supervised vehicle maintenance and repair are good enough for our clients and the routes we service. Quality workmanship and high productivity are expected from our expertly trained mechanics. We operate a highly computerized state-of-the-art maintenance facility, resulting in minimized breakdowns.
All vehicles are subject to regular inspection, as often as routine daily pre-trip checks performed by the drivers, to extensive monthly preventive maintenance procedures by our highly qualified and certified mechanics, in order to provide safe and reliable transportation.

Safety
Our company has developed a commitment to passenger safety and service. Midwest Buses encourages safety consciousness among all personnel and passengers. Thus, created a program that we like to think has become an industry standard because of our success. Which consists of periodically issues posters, manuals, slogans and even safety tips on pay stubs. Periodic in-service safety programs are administered to drivers, escorts and mechanics. Midwest Buses also provides appropriate and necessary school bus safety training to students that exceeds the industry standards and requirements. |
